Conceived by critically acclaimed French designer Andree Putman, Morgans 113 guestrooms and suites bespeak a quiet, timeless elegance. Soothing shades of taupe, camel and ivory are accented by birdseye maple paneling, luxe bedding, plush ultrasuede banquettes, silk throw pillows, roomy corduroy clubchairs, and the now legendary black and white tiled bathrooms.
The walls have been painted using a special technique that creates a subtle “impressionist” effect, providing the perfect backdrop for original black and white photographs, specially commissioned by the hotel from world-renowned artist Robert Mapplethorpe.

Asia de Cuba
From the day it opened, Asia de Cuba has been one of New York’s liveliest and most popular restaurants. Under the direction of acclaimed restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow, Asia de Cuba serves an innovative menu that blends the best of Asian and Latino cuisines in a soaring and beautifully theatrical Philippe Starck-designed space. Featuring a 30-foot long illuminated marble communal table that runs through the main dining area, a 15-foot tall photo lightbox featuring a “running waterfall,” ultra-comfortable high-backed white banquettes, and cozy living room areas with fireplaces.
Morgans Bar
One of New York’s hottest nightspots, Morgans Bar is tucked away in a surreally glamorous subterranean world beneath the hotel Lobby. The bar’s rustic exposed brick walls, poured concrete floor, and dozens of flickering candles evoke the feeling of a charming wine-cellar – but for the outrageous collection of furniture, from Louis XVI gilded fauteuil chairs upholstered in bold digitized prints of flowers, an enormous carved sleigh bed fashioned entirely of clear Lucite, chain metal curtains, and side tables that look like melting blocks of ice. |
